A local practice

What I mean when I say I work with improv in Munich.

I have facilitated improv in Munich since 2017 and have participated in more than 700 workshops, with over 10,000 hours of practice. My work includes public community sessions and purposeful formats for organisations, schools and other groups.

I co-manage and co-host Rice Cookie Improv. When this website describes a Rice Cookie workshop that I led, it says so explicitly. I do not present every community event as my own workshop.

My approach is welcoming but not vague: we play, notice what happened, and connect the experience to the purpose of the room.

Come curious. You do not need a performance, a perfect answer or a confident persona to begin.

What people practise

Improv is playful. The attention is real.

01

Listen before planning

Receive what another person actually offered before preparing the clever next move.

02

Build with difference

Let an unexpected contribution change the shared idea instead of protecting a private plan.

03

Recover and continue

Treat an imperfect moment as information and make the next useful choice.

04

Create together

Experience laughter, surprise and meaning as something the group produces together.

Improv Munich questions

Before your first session.

These are the practical questions people usually ask after finding improv through Google.

Diese Seite auf Deutsch
Can I join if I have never done improv?

Yes. Public community workshops are open to beginners, and private sessions begin with simple pair and group activities. You do not need acting experience or prepared jokes.

Are the workshops in English?

English is the main language for my workshops and for the international community work I co-host in Munich. Italian is also available. German delivery can be agreed for a suitable format.

Where can I find current public sessions?

Rice Cookie Improv publishes its current Munich workshops, shows and registration details on its official website. Use the link on this page for the live programme.

Can I book a workshop for a company, school or community?

Yes. I design separate formats for organisations, educational groups and communities. Tell me who will be in the room, the time available and what you want people to explore.

Is applied improvisation the same as an improv show?

They share the same practices of attention, acceptance and spontaneous creation. Applied improvisation uses those practices to explore collaboration, communication, creativity or adaptability rather than to produce a performance.
